ORIGIN OF THE YUGOSLAVIAN MOUNTAIN HOUND

The Yugoslavian Mountain Hound most likely originated from European scenthounds and pariah type sighthounds. This breed falls in the same class with the other Yugoslavian Hounds which are considered a very anicent breed.

SIZE

The Yugoslavian Mountain Hound’s height is 18-22 inches and weight is 44-55 pounds.

FEATURES OF THE YUGOSLAVIAN MOUNTAIN HOUND

Coat - The Yugoslavian Mountain Hound’s coat is thick, short, coarse, and flat with an abundant undercoat.

Color - This breed’s colors include black and tan with grayish-white markings on the chest permissible.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE YUGOSLAVIAN MOUNTAIN HOUND

The Yugoslavian Mountain Hound is also known as the Jugoslavenski Planinski Gonic. This breed is also known to reside in the southwestern area of  the formerYugoslavia. The Yugoslavian Mountain Hound is used in tracking fox, hare, deer, and wild boar. Today this breed is quite rare.
